A common challenge my clients face when building their personal brand is not being authentic. They often copy the content their competitors create, thinking it will work for them too. But this approach doesn’t work because everyone has a unique journey, and no two products or services are exactly the same. So, how do you stand out and connect with your audience? By being yourself.
You Are Your Personal Brand
Let’s start with the basics: your personal brand is a direct reflection of who you are, as a person, before anything else.
If you’re a calm and collected person, everything you create around your product or service — your website, colors, logo, and content — will reflect that.
If you’re loud and funny, your brand will reflect that too.
Even if you’re selling a service or product similar to your competitors, your approach will still be unique. Think about this example: there are ten apple sellers in the same market, and they all post about their apples. Do you think their content is the same? Of course not.
