Hi friends, today I want to talk about how I manage my challenges as a photographer with ADHD.

Here are a few things I’ll cover:

  • Struggling to focus during long shoots
  • Focusing on quantity over quality
  • Overcoming procrastination
  • Building confidence

Struggling to focus during long shoots

When I’m hired for corporate events, I start strong, but after about an hour, my energy drops, and I lose interest. Event photography is tough for me because the tasks can feel repetitive — listening to speakers, watching long group discussions, and seeing people chat over food and drinks.

But, I realize how important my role is. These events are a chance to educate and honor the company’s customers. I’m part of something bigger; my job is to capture moments connecting with the company’s audience. Once I recognized this, I found a way to make the job more interesting and keep myself engaged.

I set little challenges for myself:

  • Take 20 photos of people laughing
  • Take 10 photos of people taking notes
  • Take 15 photos of people…
