If you want to be a working photographer, read this.
Being a working photographer was never on my bucket list. The truth is, I was not too fond of photography. I cringe a little whenever I see professional photographers running around with their fancy-ass gear and taking photos in their kung-fu-like stances. Sometimes, I even get to see what the pictures look like and I was not impressed.
“Dude, why did you hire a professional when you can use your phone to take pictures?”
“Look at this, isn’t it similar to that photo you took with your phone?”
“Damn, you paid the photographer so much money? I could have done it for you!”
There was another incident when an ex of mine brought along her huge ass DSLR and tasked me with taking a photo of her. And the result? My photo sucked. I whipped out my phone and took another shot after.
“There, much better!”
But it wasn't, to her eye at least.
Today, I am making a living as a professional photographer. What are the odds, right? Up to date, I have shot for brands, families and events.
What made me venture into the path of a working photographer at the end?
The desperation of not knowing what to do next and acting on a comment made by a friend of mine.
