Member-only story
I found my niche through teaching and listening.
Quick story…
Before the Covid pandemic, I was a musician. A singer-guitarist to be exact. It has always been a dream of mine to make a living performing at some of the most well-established places. However, the journey towards my goal was painful — I was mostly ridiculed and looked down upon. But that didn’t stop me from becoming a rockstar. I rooted myself and stood strong, practising my ass off and climbed up the stairway to heaven. Eventually, I reached my goal.
Here is where it got interesting. Along the way, I developed the urge to help others. In short, I became a music teacher on the side. With a hand on my heart, I took an oath to never let any aspiring musician go through what I went through. I dedicated this new passion of mine to my teachers and mentors who helped me along the way. I found my purpose and it drove me to be a better person, and a better teacher as a whole.
What teaching taught me…
It taught me to be patient.
It taught me to humble myself.
It taught me to simplify technical terms.
It taught me to smile.
It taught me to solve problems.
It taught me to think of the bigger picture.
It taught me to stoop down to my student’s level.
It taught me to be a better person.
It taught me to love life.
