Do you have a plan B?
For those thinking about giving up
I had a phone call with a career coach recently, and she asked a question that made me feel blank-spaced.
“If all else fails, do you have a plan B?”
“Erm………….”
Backstory
I am a creative person who managed to turn his hobbies and passion into bit-sized careers, making a living with what I love. Today, I mainly produce brand videos and photos for businesses. But, it was not always rainbows and butterflies. I love to create, but I am bad at the business side of things, which made me seek help from a career coach for whom I have produced a brand video. I needed help as I was drowning.
“If all else fails, do you have a plan B?”
“Erm…….. nope.”
I have seen success
The main reason why I did not even think about having a plan B is because I have seen success in a similar situation in the past. Before transitioning into photography and videography, I was a music teacher and a live band performer for the past 10 years. Back then, all I wanted to do was play in a band and make a living. Nothing else matters. That was all I could think of. And, true enough, I achieved it after years of practice and hardships.
