As a photographer and videographer, I knew I had to consistently create something, practice my craft daily, and be better than yesterday. I knew I had to force myself to create something even though I wouldn’t say I liked it.

On a hot and sunny Thursday afternoon, I shut off the noise and head outside to create something, anything. I have always been drawn to emotions evoked by people. Most of my work revolves around lifestyles and candid moments. In short, it heavily involves people. So, what the hell should I create alone without people being involved?

I went to the park, took videos of flowers, put them together, and posted them on my Instagram with my usual hashtags.

Then, I received a message from Sony saying they liked the video I created and wanted to feature it on their Instagram page as part of a camera showcase.

I was hot and cold. I have been reaching out to Sony to show my work, hoping to get a collaborative deal with them because I love their cameras, but it has been fruitless. And now, without me even trying, my flower video was featured on their social media page.

After this experience, I firmly believe that creating something is always better than making nothing because you never know who might come across your work or the doors that will…
