Being consistent without a strategy is dangerous.

I know that success revolves heavily around how consistent we are in our everyday actions but I have encountered some real-life examples that prove otherwise. If I am not aware of my surroundings or how I can better myself, being consistent might be dangerous to my future goals.

Let me give you an example.

Back then, Josh and I were aspiring musicians. We started our musical journey together and swore to make a living out of it — performing, teaching, writing songs, etc. We were extremely hardworking and we practiced every day and every night. Sometimes, we even fell asleep with our guitars. In this case, we were both very consistent in our practices.

Sadly, we went out on our own and took a different journey altogether.

Here is where it gets interesting.

I caught up with him recently and we shared our achievements.
Remember how we wanted to make a living out of music?
We did it.

Here is what he achieved after 10 years
- Playing in pubs with a live cover band
- Playing very accurately according to the original artist
- Taught at privately owned-music schools
